Minister of Energy and Mining of the Republic of Srpska Petar Đokić was born in 1961 in Brčko where he finished primary school.
After graduation from the High School of Internal Affairs in Sarajevo, Mr. Đokić obtained his graduate economist title in Belgrade.
Prior to the war, Mr. Đokić worked in the police department in Brčko and performed important political functions in Brčko Assembly where he was the Member of the Executive Board as well as the Member of Assembly during several terms.
Mr. Đokić performed important tasks in the Refugee Commissariat of the Republic of Srpska.
In addition, he was director and owner of the private trading company “Intermarket” from Brčko and Chairman of the Management Board of the state-owned company "UNIS" from the Republic of Srpska.
During several terms, he has been elected the Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska. During 1997 – 2000 terms, Mr. Đokić has been twice elected the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, and during several convening of the National Assembly he was the Chairman of the Defense and Security Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska.
During the last two terms of the Republic of Srpska Government, Mr. Đokić has been elected the Minister of Labor, War Veterans and Disabled People's Protection.
Mr. Đokić has been the Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining of the Republic of Srpska from December 2014 until December 2018 when he was elected the Minister of Energy and Mining of the Republic of Srpska.
Mr. Đokić was praised and rewarded many times for his work. He is a father of one child.
