Prof. PhD Nebojša Savić
Prof. dr Nebojša Savić is a Professor Emeritus of Economics, Competitiveness and Digital economy at FEFA Faculty. He was a dean of FEFA and has been a MOC (Microeconomics of Competitiveness) affiliated professor at the Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness, Harvard Business School, Harvard University.
Dr Savic was twice elected President of the Council of Governors of the National Bank of Serbia (2012-2017, 2018-2023). He was a member of the National Council for Improving the Competitiveness of the Government of Serbia from 2008 to 2012. He was director of economic research and editor of the Conjuncture Barometer of the Institute of Economics.
Dr Savic graduated in 1974, received his Master’s degree in 1976, and his Doctorate in 1981 from the Faculty of Economics, University of Belgrade. He specialized at prestigious international institutions and universities such as the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), ACCA, Harvard Business School, and others.
Professor Savic has published seven books and a large number of papers in international (SCI and SCII Thompson Reuters lists) and domestic journals and publications. He regularly participates in numerous gatherings of economists, including papers at world congresses of economists.
Professor Savic has more than 35 years of experience in the field of improving competitiveness, managing economic policies, and building institutions of a market economy.
From 1994-99, he was president of the Yugoslav Economists Association. From 1989 to 1994, he was secretary general of the Yugoslav Economic Association and currently is a member of the Presidency of the Serbian Economic Association.
From 2003 to 2005, he was a member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Komercijalna Banka, Belgrade, and from 2006 to 2012, he was a member of the Board of Directors of Alpha Bank Serbia.
