Nikola Altiparmakov is an applied macroeconomist and a Board Member of the Serbian Fiscal Council. Dr. Altiparmakov has been on the forefront of public finance reforms in Serbia since 2003. Before taking the position of a Fiscal Council Member in 2011, he has served as a Debt Analyst in the Treasury Department, Macro-Fiscal Consultant to the Ministry of Finance and an USAID Senior Economist responsible for modelling key reforms in the area of personal income taxation, public pension system and fiscal responsibility legislation.

In his current Fiscal Council role, Nikola Altiparmakov has been overlooking fiscal policy management in Serbia and supporting introduction of contemporary fiscal management and budgeting practices. In particular, he is responsible for revenue projections, costing and incidence analysis of public policies, tax modelling, pension reform, fiscal rules and contemporary budgeting practices. Over the 2013-2014 period Dr. Altiparmakov took the lead in developing crucial parametric PAYG reforms that have gained political and social support and have successfully stabilized the financial position of the public pension system by 2019.

Mr. Altiparmakov holds a Phd Degree in Fiscal Policy from University of Belgrade, Serbia, Masters Degree in Economics, Cum Laude, from University of Toronto and a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics, Summa Cum Laude, from University of Waterloo, Canada.
