Mitsuaki Harada

Mr. Mitsuaki HARADA is Managing Director of Beo Čista Energija, Serbian Company for Managing and executing Belgrade Waste Management PPP project formed by Japanese ITOCHU Corporation (ITOCHU), French Veolia (former Suez) and Luxemburg based Marguerite since 2017.
400 million investment project, Belgrade Waste Management PPP project is the first large scale Integrated Waste Management PPP project with project finance in the region supported by International Financial Corporation (IFC), European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Austrian Development Bank (OeEB).
Beo Čista Energija started first service in August 2021 and plan to start operation of Energy from Waste Facility during this year, which can start to deliver electricity and heat to Belgrade Citizens as clean energy.
Mitsuaki has been working at ITOCHU Corporation, Japanese investment and business conglomerate with approximately 110 bases in 63 countries (including Serbia). ITOCHU generated total revenues of USD 16 billion and Net profit of USD 6 billion USD with total assets of USD 99 billion in Japanese fiscal year ending 31 March 2022.
He has 21 years of experience of Management/Development/Financing/M&A business across a variety of infrastructure related projects/companies including PPP/PFI Project, stationed in London, Paris, Belgrade, Algiers and Tokyo. Before joining ITOCHU, he also worked as an international banker for financing for projects and governments at Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), Japanese government bank.
He was born in Japan in 1977 and graduated from the faculty of Commerce and Management, Hitotsubashi University, Tokyo, Japan. He also attended MBA at ESEEC Business School in Paris, France. He is fluent in English, French and Japanese.
